Voting Priority 2020

Voting Priority 2020, was a call to participate in the 2020 election process through creative action using a series of stickers with questions and prompts on voting to encourage awareness, conversation and interaction. The project began to come together as participatory art inspired by the vote by mail and USPS issues exacerbated by the pandemic during election season. Priority Mail labels were the model for stickers with (nonpartisan) questions to consider, and encourage participation in the election process. Participants wrote answers on the stickers and added them to the sculpture (two female figures representing past and present voting rights advocates). The project first visited the Florida Southwestern College student lounge, a Florida Gulf Coast University voting registration event, and other outdoor community events.
